Where We Stand
The Institute for the American Future believes that the United States faces a determined effort by three forces to destroy Western civilization and this country as its preeminent defender.
We call it the Totalitarian Trifecta made up of Chinese Communists and their allies, Sharia-supremacists and globalists. They have different end-states in mind; each intends to bring about a new “world order” in which they will be in charge. They are, however, prepared to work together – and are doing so – in order to remove the principal impediment to the realization of those ambitions: America.
It is in the vital interest of the United States to defeat such enemies.
Each of them is also an enemy of Israel and committed to her destruction, as well, since Israel is in the frontlines of their war against the civilized world. For our mutual enemies, destroying her is a first-step to destroying us.
As a result, we have a shared interest in the defeat of such enemies. And where the Israelis are engaged in it, we should be helping them achieve it decisively. That is not “putting Israel first.” That is a recognition that America can usefully have others advance shared interests, which is a fundamental principle of the Trump Doctrine.
The question is: Can the United States rely on enemies of this country to advance our interests? Particularly when such a reliance requires us to prevent the Israelis from actually defeating their enemies and ours, it is counterproductive and ill-advised.
The Institute for the American Future rejects attempts to defend or otherwise excuse anti-Semitism in all its forms, including rhetorical attacks on the government of Israel or its leaders as surrogates for attacking Jews. America, of course, can, and does, retain the sovereign right to disagree on matters of policy with any foreign government. Where their interests and ours fundamentally align, however, we should pursue wherever possible collaboration, rather than undermining our friends and enabling their enemies, and ours.
Who We Are
The Institute for the American Future (IAF) is a new not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting the security and well-being of our constitutional Republic and her people, both now and in the years to come. IAF’s founding President is an experienced freedom-fighter, former Reagan Assistant Secretary of Defense Frank Gaffney.
The Institute seeks to accomplish its mission by: providing early warning about emerging threats; identifying effective ways of countering them; and working in partnership with other, like-minded patriots to maximize the impact of those efforts.
Such partnerships draw on a proven and highly cost-effective model of creating and supporting coalitions, committees, working groups, task forces, etc., to inform public policy debates and advance solutions to national security and other challenges. We call these teams “the Special Forces in the War of Ideas.”
Wherever possible, our Special Forces strive to assist those in the U.S. government – the executive and/or legislative branches – who are aligned on the nature of the threats that could imperil the American future and need support in addressing such dangers. This model is colloquially described as an “outside game.”
In the event teaming up with an inside game is not an option, the Institute and the coalitions it exists to foster will have a no-less-important role on the outside – i.e., that of champions of policies and initiatives that can make a difference, especially in the absence of official support.
Examples of the sorts of coalitions with which the Institute is proud to be associated and supportive include the following (additional information about each can be found at the hyperlinks):
- The Committee on the Present Danger: China – a team focused on taking down the Chinese Communist Party modeled after a group that helped Ronald Reagan develop and execute the strategy that did just that to the Soviet Union.
- The Victory Coalition – a group aimed at raising awareness about and countering the threat posed by Sharia-supremacists, their allies and enablers in the Middle East, Europe and here.
- The Sovereignty Coalition – national security practitioners, doctors and other patriots opposed to world government and efforts to institute it stealthily by conferring supranational emergency powers on the leaders of World Health Organization and United Nations at the expense of our sovereignty and freedoms.
- The Save America’s Military Coalition – an informal effort to counter cultural Marxism (“wokeism”) and otherwise restore traditional values and merit-based promotion practices essential to readiness and the necessary high morale in the U.S. armed forces.
- The Save the Persecuted Christians Coalition – a coalition made up of large numbers of non-governmental organizations striving to relieve the suffering of more than 365 million Christians being heavily persecuted around the world, united by a common belief that the United States must hold the perpetrators of such crimes accountable and disincentivize them.
The Institute for the American Future is committed to helping these groups succeed in their respective missions. Tax-deductible contributions it receives will serve that purpose. Please consider making a generous gift here.
